Chemcoast is a cross-state initiative which aims to strengthen the North German chemical sites Brunsbüttel, Seelze, Stade, Walsrode and Wilhelmshaven. Support from the governments of Lower Saxony and Schleswig Holstein means that decisions can be made decisively by a quick authorisation procedure. In the last ten years ChemCoast has received more than 1.5 billion EUR of investment.
With an already excellent existing network of gas and oil pipelines, work has begun on a ChemCoast-Ethylene-Pipeline network. The ChemCoast region is emerging as an energy hub and to accompany the already existing nuclear and other black coal or gas plants, several new power plants are schedueled in the region. |
